Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the signing of exciting winger Langelihle Phili from Stellenbosch FC, strengthening Fernando da Cruz’s squad ahead of the new Betway Premiership season.
Phili becomes Kaizer Chiefs’ fifth signing of the current transfer window. He joins Thabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner and Adolf Mtasingwa as new arrivals at Naturena, while Khanyisa Mayo has also completed a permanent move after initially joining the club on loan in January.
The 21-year-old arrives after an outstanding campaign with Stellenbosch, where he finished as the club’s top scorer with nine goals. His impressive performances also earned him the Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards, cementing his reputation as one of South Africa’s brightest young attacking talents.
LANGELIHLE PHILI JOINS AMAKHOSI
The Durban-born attacker arrives at Naturena with valuable top-flight experience despite his young age. Last season, Phili featured in 39 matches across the Betway Premiership and the CAF Confederation Cup, proving his quality and consistency at both domestic and continental level.
According to Kaizer Chiefs, his performances convinced the technical team that he has the qualities needed to cope with a demanding campaign that could see the club play more than 50 matches.
The club described Phili as an “exciting and highly sought after young winger,” while highlighting his consistency and ability to make an impact in the final third.

Phili has also enjoyed success on the international stage with South Africa Under-20. He helped Amajita win the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco last year before earning a call-up to the South Africa Under-23 squad for the 2027 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
His arrival underlines Kaizer Chiefs’ commitment to investing in young talent as the club continues rebuilding under Fernando da Cruz. With his pace, creativity and eye for goal, Phili is expected to provide another exciting attacking option for Amakhosi this season.
