Former Orlando Pirates centre forward Justin Shonga who now don the colours of Nkwazi FC in his native country in Zambia has proven that his relationship with some of his colleagues in the industry extend way beyond the pitch.

“Sugar and Spice” as he is affectionately known as recently caught up with one of his former teammates at Orlando Pirates who is one of their longest serving players during the current off season break.
As expected, the former Orlando Pirates jersey number 12 has taken to his official social media account where he documented this special moment.

What’s the story?

On Monday, former Orlando Pirates centre forward Justin Shonga who enjoyed a successful three year spell at the club between 2017 and 2020 took to his Instagram account where he shared a photo where he recently caught up with Thembinkosi Lorch whom he shared the locker-room with for a period of three seasons.

From the shared photo on the popular platform, the 26 year old Chipata born footballer and his former teammate Thembinkosi Lorch were captured dressed in drip while posing for a photo in front of a luxurious Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6L which is owned by the Orlando Pirates talisman.

Nkwazi FC centre forward Justin Shonga and Orlando Pirates left winger Thembinkosi Lorch played 55 matches alongside each other during the former’s playing days at the Houghton based outfit.

According to their player profiles on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, Justin Shonga had the privilege of playing 34 matches alongside Thembinkosi Lorch in the DStv Premiership competition and he also played 13 matches alongside him in domestic cup competitions.

In addition, Justin Shonga also had the privilege of playing 8 matches alongside Thembinkosi Lorch in the CAF Champions League competition during his successful three year spell at Orlando Pirates before joining now defunct Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.
