Where to next for Relebohile Mofokeng?

Posted on January 6, 2026

Orlando Pirates superstar Relebohile Mofokeng has big plans for his future – which won’t be at Mayfair.

Let’s take a look at what the 21-year-old has said about his next move.

MOFOKENG TO LEAVE PIRATES?

Mofokeng is open to joining another club in another country.

“I think if something can be available for me, I can get the chance somewhere in another country. I think it will be a very good move. This tournament is very important [in that aspect],” Mofokeng stated on Goal.

Furthermore, the talented Bucs and Bafana Bafana attacker is anticipating a move and he is ready for it.

“When I get a chance, I’ll just have to grab it,” Mofokeng added.

WHERE TO NEXT FOR MOFOKENG?

Mofokeng is not shy of potential suitors.

As reported on The South African, last season he received offers from Europe, the UK and the Middle East.

Back in September 2025 there was also a reported R26 million bid from Russian outfit, FC Akron.

“It’s been confirmed to this publication Akron submitted a $1.5 million (R26m) offer to the Buccaneers, which was rejected, with Mofokeng looking set to remain at the club beyond the end of the current transfer window,” iDiskiTimes reported at the time.

Additionally, the likes of Al-Ettifaq, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Minnesota United have all expressed interest in him this transfer window.

MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena has also confirmed his interest in signing the Buccaneers’ superstar.

Mokwena is a former Mamelodi Sundowns coach and would’ve crossed paths with Mofokeng in matches between the two South African powerhouses.

Therefore it appears Mofokeng has plenty of options on the table, especially now that he has publicly expressed his willingness to move abroad.
