What time is kick off for season-opener?

Posted on August 4, 2025

This past weekend, Kaizer Chiefs had to sit and watch as several rivals participated in the MTN8 quarter-finals, but as the league season gets set for kick off this weekend, fans of the Glamour Boys will be fascinated to see what the team has to offer at the start of the 2025-26 campaign.

It was the second successive season Chiefs have missed out on the MTN8 after finishing in the bottom half of the league last year, and with that in mind, it makes it quite difficult to assess what the goals will be for Amakhosi during this season of the Betway Premiership?

Can they realistically compete with Mamelodi Sundowns?

Is it a top four finish that simply will be part of their ambitions?

Whatever the case may be, this weekend will be able to provide some meaningful insights into the progress of Kaizer Chiefs and what building blocks they may have put in place during the pre-season.

So when are Kaizer Chiefs in action?

The Glamour Boys will begin their new campaign against Stellenbosch FC, who finished third last season, and who will undoubtedly present a real challenge first up.

Kick off this Sunday at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town is at 17:30.

How do you think the Glamour Boys will fare this season?
