There’s mixed news coming from the Orlando Pirates camp regarding injuries, transfer rumours and more. Here’s the latest from the champions.
Makgopa, Mbatha ruled out for several weeks
Orlando Pirates striker Evidence Makgopa will miss up to two months of action after aggravating an existing knee injury. Makgopa played through the issue at the World Cup but now requires a spell on the sidelines. According to Goal, Bafana midfielder Thalente Mbatha also has a knee issue which might require surgery.
Orlando Pirates sweating on Sibisi
Key central defender Nkosinathi Sibisi came off with an injury against Durban City at the weekend. If he can’t prove his fitness for their midweek clash against AmaZulu, they’ll be a little short in key areas. Sbangani Zulu is likely to deputise in central defence if Sibisi isn’t fit, while Mthethetheli Mthiyane could come into the side for Mbatha. Kabelo Kgositsile had an impressive cameo against Durban City, although the winger is competing with Patrick Maswanganyi for a place in a fluid attack. Maswanganyi scored against City. AmaZulu vs Pirates kicks off on Wednesday, 12 August at 19:30.
Predicted Orlando Pirates XI vs AmaZulu
Chaine; Sebelebele, Zulu, Seema, Ndaba; Dansin, Mthiyane; Appollis, Kgositsile, Moremi; Mbuthuma.
