Another busy day in the transfer market has seen Orlando Pirates move decisively ahead of their rivals. The Buccaneers officially unveiling four new players ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have also strengthened, although their respective deals are still awaiting official confirmation.

Domestic and continental ambitions are on the agenda. All three clubs are adding depth to their squads before the new campaign gets underway.

ORLANDO PIRATES LEAD THE WAY WITH FOUR NEW ARRIVALS

The Buccaneers have made the biggest statement of the transfer window so far. They officially announced the signings of Sbangani Zulu, Mthetheli Mthiyane, Bohlale Ngwato and Ghampani Lungu.

The quartet represents a significant investment in the club’s future, with Orlando Pirates targeting both immediate impact and long-term squad depth as they prepare for another demanding season.

Zulu arrives with a growing reputation as one of the country’s most promising defenders, while Mthiyane adds further options in midfield. Ngwato’s arrival strengthens the attacking department, with the winger expected to provide pace and creativity in wide areas.

Lungu completes the four-man intake and is regarded as a player capable of adding energy and competition to strikers Yanela Mbuthuma and Evidence Makgopa.

The signings underline Orlando Pirates’ determination to remain competitive across all competitions after another encouraging campaign that saw them challenge on multiple fronts.

KAIZER CHIEFS AND SUNDOWNS WAITING TO COMPLETE DEALS

While Orlando Pirates have already confirmed their new recruits, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are still finalising their respective additions.

Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of 27-year-old central defender Thabo Molosiane from Stellenbosh FC, with only an official announcement from the club still outstanding.

The talented former Sundowns academy star is expected to bolster Amakhosi’s defensive options as the club continues its rebuilding project.

Mamelodi Sundowns, meanwhile, have wrapped up a deal for SV Ried winger Antonio Van Wyk. The former Stellenbosch star scored three goals and made three assists in 18 games for the Austrian Bundesliga sid.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
