Three Kaizer Chiefs midfield signings – Part 3: The Bancé solution
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to further beef up central midfield depth next season, especially with the CAF Confederation Cup in sight.

This article is the third of three midfield player profiles with the skills and playing style to reshape Amakhosi in 2026/27.

After profiling Grant Margeman of Siwelele FC, and Golden Arrows midfield maestro Isaac Cisse, let’s talk about Ibrahim Bance of Marumo Gallants.

WHY KAIZER CHIEFS SHOULD LOOK AT IBRAHIM BANCÉ

Bance, primely aged 25, brings more than just energy in midfield, he offers real quality on the ball and creativity in tight spaces. He is a strong dribbler, able to beat defenders in 1v1 situations, and plays with real flair and an “it factor” which will make his an instant fan-favourite at Kaizer Chiefs.

He is also effective in passing situations, especially when it comes to controlling tempo. His passing range allows him to switch play and find teammates in advanced positions.

Statistically, he averages around 82.4% pass accuracy, with a strong 56.9% success rate in long balls. In addition, he has created six chances in 10 matches this season, along with 29 defensive contributions.

Kaizer Chiefs already have players like Lebohang Maboe who can influence games in similar areas, but consistency and availability remain key concerns over a long season. With squad rotation and possible departures, depth in midfield becomes even more important.

EXPERIENCE THAT BRINGS BALANCE TO MIDFIELD

His experience also adds value. Before arriving in South Africa, he came through the ASEC Mimosas system in Ivory Coast. He went on to play in Sweden for Helsingborgs IF and Real Monarchs in the United States, as well as in the Ivorian top flight. That mix of football cultures has shaped him into a more complete and adaptable midfielder.

In a Kaizer Chiefs side still trying to find consistency, a player like Bancé could offer balance, control, and reliability in the middle of the park.
