Orlando Pirates have already made a statement in the transfer market. However, there are still several established Bafana Bafana stars available should the Bucs decide to strengthen their squad even further.
The Soweto giants recently let go of Relebohile Mofokeng, so they may look to bolster their squad with a high-profile signing.
If they decide to do so, here are three Bafana Bafana stars who coach Abdeslam Ouaddou could consider signing if they want to build squad depth ahead of their Betway Premiership title defence and their return to the CAF Champions League.

THREE BAFANA BAFANA STARS ORLANDO PIRATES COULD CONSIDER SIGNING
BONGANI ZUNGU
The 33-year-old ex-Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder recently left AmaZulu.
Now, Zungu is a free agent.
The 30-capped Bafana Bafana midfielder has all the attributes to thrive in Orlando Pirates’ system.
He is calm and comfortable on the ball and loves getting forward and has great vision and passing accuracy.
Additionally, he has a similar playing style to Sipho Mbule who recently left to join Zakho FC in Iraq.
Meanwhile, his defensive qualities have already been proven at both club and international level.
Finally, ‘Ben 10’ brings loads of experience with him having played for Mamelodi Sundowns between 2022 and 2024 when they won the 2022/23 and 2023/24 Betway Premiership titles.
PERCY TAU
Percy Tau remains one of the biggest names on the market after becoming a free agent.
The former Bafana Bafana captain would bring far more than just quality in the final third.
His experience in Europe, the CAF Champions League and on the international stage would be priceless for an Orlando Pirates squad competing on multiple fronts.
Even at 32, Tau still possesses the vision, movement and football intelligence to unlock stubborn defences.
More importantly, he has delivered on the biggest stages throughout his career.
If the Bucs are looking for proven pedigree, there are few better options available.
Perhaps Tau would flourish with better players and better quality ball from the likes of Oswin Appollis, Patrick Maswanganyi and Tshepang Moremi.
SPHEPHELO “YAYA” SITHOLE
Sphephelo “Yaya” Sithole has built an impressive reputation during his time in Portugal and has previously indicated that a return to South Africa is something he would consider.
Although he is still under contract with Portuguese-based outfit Tondela, the Bafana Bafana midfielder has expressed interest in returning to South Africa.
Orlando Pirates have no shortage of midfield quality, but Sithole offers a different profile. He combines physicality with composure, covers plenty of ground and is equally comfortable breaking up attacks or starting them.
Having matured in European football and become a regular for Bafana Bafana, the 27-year-old could be the type of signing that quietly transforms a midfield.
Ultimately, Orlando Pirates have already assembled one of the strongest squads in the Betway Premiership.
However, should the Buccaneers add even one of these Bafana Bafana stars before the window closes, they would strengthen their chances of retaining the league title while mounting a serious challenge in the CAF Champions League.
SHOULD ORLANDO PIRATES LOOK TO SIGN ANY OF THESE BAFANA BAFANA STARS?
