PSL rivals want to sign Kaizer Chiefs duo for 2026/27 season

Kaizer Chiefs loanees Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane are currently spending the season with Siwelele FC.

Both players remain contracted to Amakhosi and are expected to return to Naturena at the end of the current campaign.

However, Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has made his intentions clear regarding the talented duo.

SIWELELE FC COACH WANTS TO EXTEND CHIEFS DUO’S STAY

Seema is eager to extend the loan spells of both Zwane and Mashiane beyond the current season.

As things stand, the pair are due to return to Kaizer Chiefs once their loan agreements expire.

Nevertheless, Seema hopes to keep both players at Siwelele FC for the 2026/27 campaign.

“He remains hopeful that a longer-term arrangement could be reached if Chiefs are willing to negotiate another loan spell for the 2026/27 season,” a report on Soccer Laduma claimed.

Furthermore, Seema believes he needs more time to fully integrate both players into his squad.

He also pointed to the challenges of managing a congested season ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

“I need to work with them from the beginning of the season, in pre-season, and then we set our goals,” Seema explained.

“They are good players, and every coach would love to have them in their team, but unfortunately, time was not on their side because this team had to win games, and we had to save ourselves,” he added.

DECISION LIES IN THE AMAKHOSI HIERARCHY’S HANDS

Seema clearly values both players and sees long-term potential in the duo.

However, despite his desire to retain them, the final decision rests with the Kaizer Chiefs hierarchy.

“The Siwelele boss made it clear that while he is a fan of their abilities, the logistics of a permanent move or an extension are out of his hands,” the same publication reported.

“He stressed that the club is waiting for guidance from the Chiefs hierarchy before making any definitive plans for the squad next year, as the parent club will need to assess their own technical requirements,” the report concluded.

Seema appears open to either extending their loan deals or signing the pair permanently if the opportunity arises.

Ultimately, Kaizer Chiefs must now decide whether Zwane and Mashiane still form part of the club’s long-term plans or whether their futures lie elsewhere.

DO YOU THINK KAIZER CHIEFS SHOULD LET ZWANE AND MASHIANE EXTEND THEIR LOAN SPELLS AT SIWELELE FC OR EVEN CONSIDER SELLING THEM PERMANENTLY, OR SHOULD THEY RETURN TO NATURENA NEXT SEASON?
