Orlando Pirates signing Msendami breaks the silence

Posted on January 16, 2026

Orlando Pirates’ newest signing, Daniel Msendami, has revealed that his path to the Buccaneers was far from smooth.

The 25-year-old Zimbabwean international joined the Soweto giants from Marumo Gallants, stepping onto one of the biggest stages in African football.

DANIEL MSENDAMI TO ORLANDO PIRATES

Msendami arrives at the Rand Stadium after featuring in 13 matches for Gallants this season, scoring once this season, which was against Orlando Pirates.

“I had to push to get here,” Msendami told the club’s media. “Joining Orlando Pirates for me is like a dream come true because it is one of the biggest teams in Africa.”

At Orlando Pirates, Msendami knows nothing will come easy, and that excites him. “I am very happy to be here. I am looking forward to delivering. To score goals and win matches,” he said.

“Joining Orlando Pirates and knowing it is a big squad, for me is a big motivation. I want to compete and be one of the best in the team.”

More than anything, Msendami is aware of the responsibility that comes with wearing black and white. “I am very happy to join a club with a lot of supporters. I am looking forward to making them very happy,” the new Orlando Pirates winger concluded.

READY FOR THE BUCCANEERS

Msendami’s top-flight career began at Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC, where he learned the demands of senior football.

He later moved to Botswana powerhouse Jwaneng Galaxy before finding consistency in South Africa with Marumo Gallants.

His most productive season came last term, when he registered three goals and three assists in 33 appearances for Gallants.

On the international stage, Msendami has earned 13 caps for Zimbabwe and was recently part of the Warriors squad at the current AFCON in Morocco, where they exited at the group stages.

HOW WELL DO YOU THINK HE WILL COMPETE FOR THE STARTING LINE-UP?
