Orlando Pirates midfielder Kabelo Dlamini has been spotted spending time with former teammate Thembinkosi Lorch as he continues his recovery from injury.
The 30-year-old was not included in the Pirates squad that travelled to Spain for the club’s pre-season training camp, with the midfielder still in the final stages of his rehabilitation.
On Monday, Lorch shared an Instagram story showing himself, Dlamini and another friend enjoying a game of ludo while eating kota, the popular township street-food sandwich.
The video did not reveal the location, leaving fans guessing where the trio had met.
The clip quickly attracted attention on social media, with many supporters wondering why Dlamini was absent from Pirates’ pre-season tour and also asking why he was eating an unhealthy meal during pre-season.
Others were quick to point out that the midfielder is still recovering from injury and is expected to resume full training once the Buccaneers return from Spain.
Earlier this month, Soccer Laduma, reported that Dlamini was nearing a return to action.
“He’s doing much better now. Everything is progressing well, and if there are no setbacks, the expectation is that he should be back in about two to three weeks,” a source told the publication.
The report also claimed that Pirates are considering extending Dlamini’s contract by a further two years, suggesting the club still sees the experienced midfielder as part of its long-term plans despite his injury setback.

Dlamini is a fan favourite but was hardly used by Abdeslam Ouaddou last season.The midfielder suffered an injury which ruled him out for several months and is still yet to fully recover.
With plenty of midfielders in the team, it remains to be seen if he’ll get minute when he recovers.
