Dallas FC winger Katlego Ntsabeleng has broken his silence on his loan move to Mamelodi Sundowns saying this is a club that has stayed in his heart.
Ntsabeleng played in the Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns youth structures and also enjoyed Varsity football at the University of Johannesburg where he was scouted by the University of Carolina. He has since played for Reading United and Dallas in the professional ranks in the USA.
The 27-year-old featured 92 times for Dallas who have extended his contract by two years earlier this year scoring two goals with seven assists during his time at Dallas. He is back home albeit on loan with the eight-time league champions.
He revealed on Sundowns’ Pitchside Podcast that this is not the first time he has had a chance to play for the Brazilians first team and feels this time around things are aligned.
“It’s funny because it’s not the first time that the call came in,” said ‘Tsiki’.
“The call came in first I think it was in 2023. But at the time, I was just trying to stabilise myself in the league that side. So, I wasn’t confident in me trying to move around and try different things.
“I was still trying to find my feet in the professional ranks because I was new to kind of like everything. At that time, obviously not to say I declined the offer, but it didn’t work out. Things happen in football it didn’t work out.
“But when it came around the second time, I think it was because I always wanted to play for Sundowns man. Sundowns has been a team that stayed in my heart, especially considering that I felt like I was robbed of that moment to have victory and glory to be in this club.
“So yeah, I always had that little thing that maybe, maybe one day.”
