Nabi Responds To ‘Negative’ Flavio Comments

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has hit back at critics directed at new striker Flávio Silva with the Tunisian mentor pleading for patience in adaptation.

Silva, 29, joined the Glamour Boys from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia during the offseason on a two-year deal until 30 June 2027 with an option to extend for a further year.

His showing in Chiefs colours did not sit well with a certain section of the club’s fans with Nabi leaping to the striker’s defense ahead of this weekend’s opening Betway Premiership clash against Stellenbosch FC.

“I was a little bit surprised to hear about those negative comments,” he said on #PrimeSportsWithMahlatse.

“But as far as the player has signed for Kaizer Chiefs, it’s our duty to protect him, to work very well and as well to give him time to adapt.

“And that goes, not only for Flavio, but for anyone’s that are new.

“And as well and I will not speak about specifically him, but we need to put all the new players in the same basket and the young ones as well that came from our DDC team.”
