Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has clarified the confusion that he doesn’t already have good players at Naturena, but is always looking to add specific profiles that fit his game model.
The Tunisian mentor enters his second season at the club after ending Chiefs’ trophy drought with the Nedbank Cup but finishing out of the top eight in the league.
There will be bigger expectations on Nabi, especially in the league, with Amakhosi also returning to CAF football on the Confederation Cup.
Ahead of Chiefs’ Betway Premiership opener at Stellenbosch FC, Nabi has discussed the club’s signings so far.
“What I said last season maybe was a little bit misunderstood – I wanted to emphasize that I was looking for profiles that can fit in my game model, but not that I didn’t have good players,” he said at the league’s 2025/26 launch.
“I just wanted to clarify that.
“Secondly, we are heading into the new season with new players. The management has tried their best to get players and we give them time and we will see in the future if we have made good decisions, depending on how they will fit in the team and the game model.”
