Bafana star Relebohile Mofokeng has clarified comments on the exits of Mohau Nkota and Mbekezeli Mbokazi from Orlando Pirates.
21-year-old Bafana star Relebohile Mofokeng has recently completed a move to Belgian side Royal Union Saint-Gilloise. He’s been quick to clarify theories that he was unhappy with the sales of Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Mohau Nkota.
Via KickOff:
“People are always saying that (that he was unhappy), but I was also supposed to leave, but I told the chairman that I won’t leave before I win the league,” Mofokeng said.
“So I think that’s clear, I was not ready to leave because I wanted to win the league, I wanted to fight for the badge before I leave. So I think when I did that, the chairman was very happy,” he shared.
“I think it was due time. God’s timing is always perfect. I was just praying and wishing them well. When it’s your time, it’s your time…everyone has a chance, and now, it’s my time to leave.”
Can teenager Witbooi replace Mofokeng at Orlando Pirates?
Diminutive in stature, Cape Town City star Emile Witbooi is far from the finished product. However, the 17-year-old is highly thought of in South Africa. City has placed a big price tag on his head, thought to be rising to R20 million, so Pirates will need to think long and hard about how they structure any potential deal for the attacking midfielder born in 2008.
