Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has likened teenager Nthutuko Khumalo to legendary Bafana Bafana striker Doctor Khumalo, hailing the Abafana Bes’thende prospect.

Mngqithi and his men kick off their 2025/26 season against Siwele FC in the late kick off on Saturday.

The former Sundowns coach has insisted he is committed to Arrows and wants to guide them to former heights to repay the club’s faith in him as a coach.

At the Betway Premiership launch, Mngqithi insisted his side will be interesting to watch this campaign and he will unleash a gem in Khumalo, who reminds him on the teenagers legendary namesake.

“I’ve got a 17-year-old you’ll love watching this season,” he stated.

“If he stays with Arrows for more than three seasons without going overseas, I will say something is wrong with my brain because he’s a special player. I’m telling you he’s an amazing talent.

“At Midlands I signed maybe five players under 21, and only is 24 years old. And it’s by coincidence that he is a Khumalo, but he really reminds me of a faster Doctor Khumalo.

“He is an interesting player and believe me you will love what you will see.

“In terms what happens with the results and the log table, I don’t know but believe me, we will be an interesting team to watch.”
