León – Why I Chose Sundowns

Posted on January 14, 2026

Brayan León has revealed the reasons behind his decision to join Mamelodi Sundowns after being officially unveiled by the club.

The Brazilians secured the Columbian’s services as they bolster their squad ahead of the challenging second round of the 2025/26 season.

The 25-year-old centre-forward arrived in SA this past weekend and linked up with his teammates, who are in camp in Polokwane preparing for the season’s resumption.

León revealed that Sundowns’ past achievements influenced his decision to sign. He also expressed his ambition to win titles and contribute to making the club even stronger.

“I chose Sundowns because of the new challenges,” Leon told Sundowns media department.

“I think this is the best team, the most successful and well. I think it’s always great to have these new challenges and to be a champion here.

“Well, I really hope to return the favour. I already mentioned that Sundowns is the most successful team.

“I think that’s what I’m here for – to win, to reap the titles and to make it even bigger than it already is.”

Sundowns resume their Betway Premiership campaign with the home fixture against Orbit College on 19 January.
