Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly set to part ways with defender Given Msimango as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new Betway Premiership season.
The 27-year-old centre-back joined Amakhosi in 2023 during Cavin Johnson’s tenure and was immediately entrusted with the captain’s armband. However, injuries disrupted his progress, while he found himself out of favour following Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival.
Msimango returned to the first-team fold towards the end of last season after Zitha Kwinika suffered an injury and impressed with a string of solid performances.
Despite that resurgence, it appears new coach Fernando Da Cruz does not see him as part of his long-term plans.
According to SABC Sport, Kaizer Chiefs have offered both Ashley du Preez and Msimango to Stellenbosch FC, along with a cash payment, in an attempt to land highly rated winger Langelihle Phili.
Msimango has made 53 appearances for Amakhosi in all competitions since joining the club, including 13 Betway Premiership matches during the 2025/26 campaign.

While Du Preez has already departed Naturena, Msimango has remained with the squad and featured during the club’s pre-season tour of Spain.
Chiefs have already strengthened their squad by signing goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner, defender Thabo Moloisane, Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa, and striker Khanyisa Mayo, whose loan move has now been made permanent.
With the transfer window still open until September, Da Cruz is expected to make further additions as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts.
