Glody Lilepo remained behind in South Africa when Kaizer Chiefs left for Spain. Thus, sparking speculation over his future following a big offer from African giants.
Kaizer Chiefs are in a race with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns for the signature of Polokwane City and Bafana Bafana right back Thabang Matulidi. Meanwhile, both Lilepo and Thabo Cele face uncertain futures after remaining behind in SA.
Gaston Sirino is the other player who stayed behind and he is also the most recent confirmed Amakhosi departure. So, this does not make for good reading for Lilepo or Cele.

Initially, Kaizer Chiefs were the first of the ‘Big Three’ to show interest in Polokwane City defender, Mataludi.
However, they now face stiff competition from Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
You know you are something special when the ‘Big Three’ are all interested. So, Matuludi is not shy of options ahead of the 2026/27 PSL season/ As it stands, he is contracted to Polokwane City but he is aware of the talks and has not outrightly ruled out a future move either.
“There is no way I can be surprised. Obviously, when you are playing week in and week out, there will always be talks,” Matuludi told FARPost.

As mentioned, Cele, Lilepo and Sirino were left behind in SA.
Since then, Sirino has left.
Meanwhile, Lilepo is likely to leave next Kaizer Chiefs. As reported on The South African, African giants AS FAR have tabled a big offer for the Amakhosi attacker.
Additionally, reports claim that Kaizer Chiefs have already decided that he will be leaving Naturena.
“Glody Makabi Lilepo’s future at Kaizer Chiefs is just as good as done with the decision-makers at the club having made their call,” SoccerLaduma reported.
Finally, Cele is the other player facing a probable departure. He is still contracted to Amakhosi. However, the club and player are both open to an agreement that could see him leave before the end of his contract.
