Kaizer Chiefs to build on Nedbank Cup win

Kaizer Chiefs kick off the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season at the Athlone Stadium away to Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

Midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says the team is fully prepared and eager to hit the ground running after lifting the Nedbank Cup title last term and having a sharp pre-season in the Netherlands.

The Pitermartizburg-born playmaker, affectionately known as “Mshini,” believes Kaizer Chiefs are heading into the new campaign with renewed focus and higher confidence.

“Our energy is high and we’re going into the season with a positive mentality — not over-excited, but confident,” Ngcobo told the club’s website. “We want to get into a rhythm that we can maintain throughout the season.

“We won the Nedbank Cup last season and qualified to play in the CAF Confederation Cup, which is inspiring us to start on the front foot. We’re motivated to build on what we achieved and give our best in every competition.
