Kaizer Chiefs appear to be in the process of offloading a plethora of talented players – and coaches.
Young defender Aden McCarthy has widely reported to already have packed his bags.
However, that is just a sign of things to come with several more player departures expected in the coming days and weeks.
These THREE Amakhosi players are all likely heading out of Naturena.
BIG DECISIONS TO BE MADE BY AMAKHOSI MANAGEMENT
Several Kaizer Chiefs players’ contracts are coming to an end.
Amakhosi management must decide which players deserve extensions and which players will be allowed to leave, leaving them with several important decisions to make in the off-season.
The club must determine which players remain part of its long-term plans.
Equally, management must decide whether certain players – and the club itself – would benefit more from a permanent transfer or a loan move.
KAIZER CHIEFS TRIO EXPECTED TO LEAVE NATURENA
For this trio, reports suggest they are among the players expected to depart Naturena.
“Amakhosi are also expected to part ways with several players whose contracts have come to an end, while others have simply not found their footing at the Naturena-based club, KickOff reported.
“Gaston Sirino, Fiacre Ntwari and George Matlou are among those expected to be leaving,” they added.
Goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari fell out of favour with Kaizer Chiefs when he was dropped midway through the 2024/25 season by then coach Nasreddine Nabi.
Thereafter, co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalili Ben Youssef continued the trend.
Shot-stopper Brandon Peterson was appointed as captain and his impressive form and leadership credentials strengthened his grip on a place in goal.
As things stand, Ntwari’s prospects of regular game time at Naturena remain limited, regardless of who takes charge next season.
A move away from Kaizer Chiefs could prove beneficial for all parties. More importantly, it would give Ntwari the opportunity to revive his career and secure consistent first-team football.
Similarly, Gaston Sirino has faced growing uncertainty for several months.
Reports have repeatedly linked the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder with a departure, suggesting he may no longer feature prominently in the club’s long-term plans.
Finally, George Matlou finds himself in a comparable position.
The midfielder has featured in transfer speculation across multiple windows.
Consequently, his departure appears increasingly likely.
Whether, Kaizer Chiefs opt for a loan move or a permanent transfer remains to be seen, but his future at Naturena looks far from certain.

Towering and lanky centre-back, McCarthy was the first player to leave Kaizer Chiefs this transfer window.
He is set to join Azerbaijan Premier League side Sabah FK who have qualified for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.
According to iDiski Times, the young defender departed on Monday evening to finalise his move. The same publication reported that he will be joining them on a three-year deal.
McCarthy, 22, has had an outstanding season with Amakhosi, and playing in the Champions League will enhance his development as a player.
