Former Kaizer Chiefs star Phumlani Mkhize, a man who quite literally shot himself in the foot, isn’t happy with how Khanyisa Mayo has fared with the club. The 27-year-old ex-Cape Town City star’s loan spell from Belouizdad isn’t likely to be made permanent. He has made only 12 appearances, scoring once, and that was on his debut against Marumo Galants in September 2025. It’s disappointing, given that Mayo knows the league well and has the pedigree and quality to excel at this level.

Meanwhile, before a somewhat surprising Nedbank Cup Round of 32 exit to Stellenbosch, the Glamour Boys hadn’t conceded since November 29th against Zamalek.
