Kaizer Chiefs: Sirino and Msimango

Posted on December 16, 2025

Gaston Sirino and Given Msimango are two experienced players who could make way at the end of the season.

Their contracts are set to expire at the end of the season and with Cadric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef set to leave in June, the duo could find themselves without clubs.

Sirino has been mostly used as a substitute, but in the 14 matches he has played across all competitions, he has only scored once and provided two assists.

Before joining Chiefs, the talented winger was highly rated and regarded as one of the best players in the Premier Soccer League. His first few matches at Amakhosi proved that, as he scored three goals in his opening six matches.

His form dived then and it feels he is a different player than the one who held things together for Kaizer Chiefs.

His contract expires end of June and if he is not utilised by then, he might be on his way out of Naturena.

Will Kaizer Chiefs play Msimango?

Msimango was one of the most promising young defenders at TS Galaxy. His move to Chiefs seemed to have paid off and he was named as club captain by then-coach Cavin Johnson.

Injuries and the signing of Inacio Miguel have seen the player on the bench for most of the 2024/25 season.

Msimango is yet to play a single match for Kaizer Chiefs this campaign. He was named on the bench a few times but with the likes of Aden McCarthy and Zitha Kwinika grabbing their opportunities, it seems unlikely that the talented defender will ever start a match.

Towards the end of last season, Msimango did play a few matches due to Rushwin Dortley’s injury and Miguel’s suspension.

It was, however, another outcast Zita Kwinika, who took his opportunities and forced the Kaizer Chiefs technical team to notice him. The Soweto-born defender has since forced his way into the starting eleven this season.

Should Chiefs release the two stars?
