Burundian international Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana who is heavily linked with a move away from Kaizer Chiefs did not have the best of times in the second half of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season under then head coach Arthur Zwane.

The lanky centre forward who joined Kaizer Chiefs in August 2022 on a two year contract with an option of a further extension after he impressed whilst on trial has struggled to get his career going even in the 2023/24 season under coach Molefi Ntseki terms at the helm.

On Friday, one of the leading sport publications in South Africa reported that Kaizer Chiefs centre forward Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana who has fallen down the pecking order at the club is reportedly battling mental health issues due to his uncertain future at the Naturena based outfit.

According to reports, it is reported that the 25 year old Bujumbura born footballer whose move to Wydad Casablanca flopped despite traveling to Morocco in the hope of sealing a deal is still training with Kaizer Chiefs as he honours his contract.

According to his player profile on German website 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘵, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana was not part of the matchday squad when Kaizer Chiefs played to a goalless draw against Chippa United in their league opener.

In addition, the Kaizer jersey number 28 was also not part of the matchday squad when they were defeated 2-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns.
