Kaizer Chiefs have dropped their strongest indication yet that a new head coach could soon be unveiled.
The Glamour Boys are entering a crucial period ahead of the new season. Supporters are eagerly awaiting clarity on the coaching situation, incoming signings and other structural changes within the club.

Speaking recently, Motaung suggested fans will not have to wait much longer for answers.
“We thank the coaches and the entire team for the good work they did in securing us a third-place finish,” said Motaung.
“But regarding the future of the team and our plans, announcements will be made soon.”
“Everyone is waiting to hear news about the coaching staff, the players coming in and out, and other changes. The Toyota Cup will give us the opportunity to present all of that properly,” she said.
2026 TOYOTA CUP
Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed they will take on Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC in the third edition of the Toyota Cup on Sunday, 26 July 2026. The match will kick off at 15:00 SAST at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Kaizer Chiefs launched the Toyota Cup in July 2024 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. Kaizer Chiefs hosted Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC. It proved to be a difficult start for Amakhosi, who suffered a 4-0 defeat.
The second edition was held at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium in July 2025. Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko SC were the invited opponents.

The event marked the unveiling of the official Toyota Cup trophy, designed with an African spear motif to represent continental unity. After a goalless draw, Asante Kotoko lifted the trophy by winning 3-2 on penalties. Earlier in the day, the Kaizer Chiefs Legends defeated the KZN Legends in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw.
