His arrival follows after Thabo Moloisane from Stellenbosch FC, and Renaldo Leaner from Sekhukhune United.
In a statement, Kaizer Chiefs confirmed that the deal was completed after successful talks between the two clubs.
“Kaizer Chiefs have secured the services of Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko from Tanzanian giants, Azam FC for an undisclosed fee, following successful negotiations between the two Clubs.“
The club added that the experienced midfielder captained Azam FC and now becomes the first Tanzanian footballer to represent Amakhosi.
“The 27-year-old defensive midfielder, who was captain at Azam, becomes the first player from Tanzania to join Amakhosi. His arrival adds to the impressive list of players from over 20 different African countries who have worn the famous Gold & Black jersey.“
EXPERIENCED MIDFIELDER
Mtasingwa arrives in Naturena with extensive experience after spending six seasons playing in Iceland, Norway and Finland before returning to Tanzania in 2024.
He helped Azam FC finish third in the Tanzanian Premier League last season and has also served as vice-captain of the Tanzania national team.
“Mtasingwa brings valuable experience, having spent six seasons in Scandinavia, playing in the Icelandic, Norwegian and Finnish leagues. He returned home in 2024 to help Azam FC finish third in the Tanzanian league last season.“
