So, Amakhosi have decided who will be replacing Yusuf Maart. Meanwhile, the Bucs have appointed their new captain to replace Innocent Maela.
CHIEFS NEW CAPTAINS REVEALED
Chiefs have utilised Inavio Miguel as their captain throughout the pre-season.
Meaning, he is set to replace Maart as the new Amakhosi skipper. Meanwhile, Brandon Petersen and Zitha Kwinika are the new Chiefs vice captains.
“Both management and the technical team agreed that there should have a captains committee with three players on it. The club captain is Inacio Miguel but he will be working together with Brandon Petersen and Given Msimango as his vices. It will depend on who is playing on that day to take over from Miguel who is the number one captain, then Petersen followed by Msimango. That’s how it will work,” the insider told SoccerLaduma.
NEW PIRATES CAPTAIN APPOINTED
Maela has left big boots to fill following his legendary Bucs career.
So, now we know who will be attempting to fill his boots. Pirates have appointed Nkosinathi Sibisi as their new captain for the 2025/26 season.
“It is truly an honour and privilege to be named captain of this great institution. It’s a responsibility that I accept and promise to fulfil the role in the best way I possibly can,” Sibisi stated following his appointment as the new Pirates captain.
Thapelo Xoki and teenager Mbekezeli Mbokazi have been named as the vice-captains.
