Kaizer Chiefs fans have received welcome news ahead of the club’s third pre-season friendly in Spain. Elche CF have confirmed that Saturday’s match will be streamed live on their official YouTube channel, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.
The fixture comes after Amakhosi played out 1-1 draws against Rangers FC and Al-Kholood. Etiosa Ighodaro opened the scoring against the Scottish giants before Asanele Velebayi found the net in the second friendly against the Saudi Arabian outfit.

The confirmation means Kaizer Chiefs supporters will finally get the chance to watch their team in action during the Spanish training camp. The opening two friendlies were not televised, leaving fans to rely on match reports and club updates.
Saturday’s encounter also presents Amakhosi with their toughest pre-season test so far. Elche are preparing for another campaign in La Liga after successfully retaining their top-flight status last season.
LA LIGA TEST AWAITS KAIZER CHIEFS
Elche secured promotion from the Segunda División in 2025 under head coach Eder Sarabia. The club then finished 15th in the 20-team La Liga table during the 2025/26 season to secure survival.
Their place in Spain’s top flight was only confirmed on the final day after a dramatic 1-1 draw against Girona. Elche also produced several memorable results throughout the campaign.
The Spanish side stunned Atlético Madrid with a 3-2 home victory in April 2026. Earlier in the season, they also earned an impressive 2-2 draw away to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Those results underline the challenge awaiting Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. The match will give Fernando Da Cruz another opportunity to assess his squad against quality opposition as preparations continue for the new Betway Premiership season.
