Khulekani Shezi scored the only goal of the game in the 53rd minute, catching Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen off his line with a superb effort from the right flank.
Amakhosi pushed for an equaliser late in the match but could not find a way past the Golden Arrows defence.
Maboe, Shabalala and Monyane all came close, but Arrows held on to secure a place in the MTN8 semi-finals and send Kaizer Chiefs crashing out.

PITSO DLADLA FACES FIRST BIG TEST
Golden Arrows arrive in Johannesburg during a major rebuild. Pitso Dladla now leads the Durban side. He replaced Manqoba Mngqithi, who left Arrows for Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC.
Arrows have also lost several important players during the rebuild.
Siyanda Ndlovu joined reigning Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns. The winger enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring four goals and providing eight assists.
Isaac Cissé also left the club. The Ivorian midfielder completed a move to Belgian side Royal Charleroi SC. His departure leaves another significant hole in the Arrows midfield.

KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET MTN8 STATEMENT
Amakhosi therefore enter Sunday’s clash with a major opportunity. The Glamour Boys can make an early statement in the MTN8 and move one step closer to another piece of silverware.
Kaizer Chiefs also come into the match after opening their Betway Premiership campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Kruger United.
Flávio Silva opened the scoring before Wandile Duba came off the bench to score twice in the second half. Now, Fernando Da Cruz will look to guide Chiefs into the MTN8 semi-finals.
