Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley du Preez has been allocated jersey No.10 at Stellenbosch FC.
Du Preez made a sensational return to the Winelands-based outfit after Chiefs convinced him to go back.
This was Amakhosi’s way of trying to lure attacker Langelihle Phili to Naturena, and Du Preez did not have a problem with that.
He spent six seasons with Stellies before the Soweto giants came knocking for his services four years ago.
At Chiefs, Du Preez made 98 appearances, the majority of which came in his first three seasons with the club.
He was sparingly used last season, and the writing was always on the wall that the speedy striker would not last at Naturena.
Chiefs recently went to Spain for their pre-season camp, and Du Preez was left behind alongside a few of those who have already left.

DU PREEZ REUNITES WITH MATLOU AND MSIMANGO
Meanwhile, Du Preez’s return to Stellenbosch will see him reunite with former teammate at Chiefs George Matlou.
Matlou was signed in this transfer window after he was deemed surplus to requirements by the new Amakhosi technical team.
Nonetheless, Gavin Hunt felt he needed him in his team to try and reinforce that Stellies midfield for the current season.
Furthermore, there is also Given Msimango who was unveiled on Tuesday following his arrival from Chiefs.
