Leading iDiski Times reporter Lorenz Kohler has revealed that the Kaizer Chiefs tactian is in advanced talks with Babina Noko.
The development follows the departure of Eric Tinkler, who left Sekhukhune United by mutual agreement in April after a disappointing second half of the season saw the club slip from title contention and suffer a shock Nedbank Cup exit to Milford FC.
Assistant coach Paulos Masehe then took charge on an interim basis for the final six matches of the campaign. Under Masehe, Babina Noko recorded one win, three draws and two defeats while securing a fifth-place finish.
WHAT DID CEDRIC KAZE ACHIEVE AT KAIZER CHIEFS?
Kaze spent the final seven months of the 2025/26 season as Kaizer Chiefs’ co-coach alongside Khalil Ben Youssef after the departure of Nasreddine Nabi, whom he had initially joined as an assistant in October 2024.
The coaching duo guided Amakhosi to a third-place finish in the Betway Premiership with 54 points, securing the club’s highest league position in several years.
Kaizer Chiefs also enjoyed a four-match winning streak during the latter stages of the campaign, with Kaze favouring a possession-based style of play that often produced attractive attacking football.
WHY IS HE IN DEMAND?
Despite falling short in domestic cup competitions and battling defensive inconsistencies, Kaze enhanced his reputation during his time at Naturena. His ability to bridge cultural and language barriers also proved valuable, particularly in helping international players settle at the club.
Following his departure at the end of May when his Kaizer Chiefs contract expired, Kaze has remained a sought-after figure in South African football and is now understood to be in advanced talks over the vacant head coaching role at Sekhukhune United.
