The 22-year-old Kaizer Chiefs youth graduate is reportedly being targeted to gain regular first-team football ahead of the 2026/27 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.
Hope FC are said to be keen on Zwane as one of their top transfer targets ahead of the new Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.
SAMKELO ZWANE INTEREST
According to iDiski Times journalist Sinethemba Makonco, the newly promoted club has opened formal discussions with Amakhosi over a season-long loan move for the highly-rated 22-year-old.
The move would hand Zwane the opportunity to play regular first-team football after struggling for consistent minutes at Naturena.
Zwane came through the Kaizer Chiefs academy before making his senior debut under former head coach Arthur Zwane in 2022.
The central midfielder impressed with his composure in possession and passing ability, making 15 first-team appearances during his breakthrough campaign. His performances also earned him selection for the South Africa Under-23 national team.
However, increased competition for places in midfield saw Zwane fall down the pecking order. It veritually dimished all opportunity in the senior squad. A loan move to Siwelele FC failed to bare fruit last season.
LOAN DEAL COULD BENEFIT BOTH PARTIES
Football agent Mike Makaab previously backed the idea of Zwane leaving on loan to continue his development.
“We all know the qualities that Zwane has. But we also have to realise that he hasn’t played enough. And the club could affect the confidence of the player. Hence, I say that the loan move is perfect in the sense that he can get regular game-time and continue to gain experience.”
Negotiations between Kaizer Chiefs and Hope FC are ongoing. The clubs still need to reach an agreement on the player’s salary during the proposed loan spell.
If a deal is finalised before the transfer window closes, Zwane will join Hope FC for the 2026/27 season. The aim will be rebuilding his confidence, gaining valuable experience and returning to Kaizer Chiefs as a more complete midfielder.
