Former Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has been left impressed with Kaizer Chiefs, as they concluded their pre-season with the Toyota Cup this past weekend.
The Glamour Boys recently returned from their preseason tour of the Netherlands where they took part in a few high-profile friendly matches against some of Europe’s top sides.
Nasreddine Nabi’s charges then played Asante Kotoko this past weekend where they lost the tie 3-2 on penalties and will now look to finalise their touches before they open their Betway Premiership season with a tricky away league fixture against Stellenbosch FC.
Despite their defeat, Kekana said he had seen a better and structured Chiefs side who will look to stamp their authority in the upcoming campaign.
“I’ve seen a better Kaizer Chiefs,” he said on Soccerzone.
“I’ve seen a team that wants to win football matches.
“I’ve seen distances in the midfield. I’ve seen distances as a team in the structure.
“You can tell this is a team that wants to compete this season.”
