What appeared to be a straightforward Kaizer Chiefs home game has suddenly become a scheduling puzzle. Conflicting information is now circulating over when and where the highly anticipated encounter will take place.
The confusion stems from contrasting fixture information and a new announcement from Moses Mabhida Stadium, leaving supporters uncertain about the plans for the match.
KAIZER CHIEFS FIXTURE THROWN INTO CONFUSION
The original fixture information listed the match for Saturday, 5 September 2026, at 20:00, with Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Phokeng, North West, named as the venue.
That scheduling had given supporters plenty of time to plan for what is expected to be a big occasion.
Kaizer Chiefs have a massive following across the country, while Siwelele FC’s growing profile means the fixture is also expected to attract significant interest.
However, a surprising development has now thrown those plans into doubt.

Moses Mabhida Stadium published an announcement on its official social media channels stating that it would host the Chiefs-Siwelele encounter.
More importantly, the announcement listed a completely different date and kick-off time. According to the stadium’s announcement, the match is scheduled for Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at 19:30 in Durban.
That is three days earlier than the date previously listed, while the venue has also changed from Royal Bafokeng Stadium to Moses Mabhida Stadium.
The conflicting information has understandably created confusion among supporters.
WHAT ABOUT THE ROYAL BAFOKENG DATE?
Fans who were preparing to travel to Phokeng on 5 September could now potentially have to change their plans, while those based in KwaZulu-Natal may suddenly have a home-city opportunity to watch the Glamour Boys.
The biggest question, however, is which information should supporters rely on.
The sudden change has also raised questions about stadium availability and the ongoing requirements surrounding pitch rehabilitation across the Betway Premiership.
For now, supporters are left with two sets of information: the previously published fixture listing pointing towards Royal Bafokeng Stadium on 5 September at 20:00, and the Moses Mabhida Stadium announcement pointing towards 2 September at 19:30.
Until the relevant authorities or the clubs provide definitive confirmation, the uncertainty is likely to continue.
