Wandile Duba is the latest of the forward players to be sidelined with injury.
The club announced on Wednesday that both Duba and captain Brandon Petersen were unavailable for selection ahead of Amakhosi’s league game against Golden Arrows.
Duba, who has scored three goals this season, is out for two weeks after picking up a hip and grown injury.
“He has a minor defect in the affected area, and the medical team will monitor his progress closely over the coming week before determining the next course of action,” Kaizer Chiefs said on their website.
“Both players have played key roles in Kaizer Chiefs’ strong start to the campaign, and their absence will be felt. The Club extends its best wishes to Petersen and Duba for a speedy recovery and looks forward to welcoming them back to action soon.”
With Duba out of action for two weeks, he joins the likes of Khanyisa Mayo, Flavio Silva and Langelihle Phili on the sidelines.
Amakhosi might have a crisis in the coming games, with Etiosa Ighodaro as the only striker available. The Nigerian forward has played a handful of games this season but is yet to find a goal for the Glamour Boys.
If Kaizer Chiefs are to get three points against Arrows, they will heavily rely on their wingers and midfield to get them over the line. The postivie thing is that they only play one game before the FIFA break which will give their injured players enough time to recover.
