Bafana Bafana and Angola played out to a 1-1 draw in a behind closed doors warm-up fixture for the African Nations Championship that kicks off on Saturday.
Tanzania open the tournament against Burkina Faso on 2 August at the Benjamin Makpa Stadiim for the 2024 CHAN, which Uganda and Kenya also share as hosts, in preparation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana named their 23-man squad last week, which will be lead by Head coach Molefi Ntseki, and assisted by Reneilwe Letsholonyane, boasting a team with experience, and hunger with more than half the squad playing for their futures as free agents.
It was two separate starting line-ups with Mbanjwa/Kopano, Majadibou, Kwanda, Molaoa, Tlolane, Nkosi, Makaringe, Human, Dlambewu, Masiya, Lepasa in the first half, where the team were 1-0 down at the break and in the second half; Xulu, Jooste, Rama, Khoza, Mashego, Johannes, Maema, Dolly, Masuku, Msani, Kutumela featuring.
The former Sundowns striker, Thabiso Kutumela found the equaliser with an assist from Terrence Mashego in an overall satisficatory outing for both sides before they depart for East Africa.
The CHAN team leaves for Kampala, Uganda on Sunday and open their Group C campaign against Algeria on 8 August at the Mandela National Stadium.
