After making the move to Sundowns from Stellenbosch in August 2024, the striker quickly silenced any doubts about his ability to perform at one of South Africa’s supremos.

The Mitchells Plain-born star hit the ground running, scoring on debut in a continental qualifier and following that up with crucial goals in both domestic and Champions League fixtures.

By midseason, Rayners had already registered double figures in goals and was consistently involved in build-up play and assists.

“I didn’t come to Sundowns just to be part of the squad — I came to win trophies and make a difference,” the 29-year-old Rayners said via iDiski Times. “I want to help the team dominate every competition we’re in.”

“The belief the coaches showed in me from day one helped a lot. The players welcomed me, and the support made it easier to play my natural game,” the Sundowns attacker said.
