Kaizer Chiefs have rewarded goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma with a new one-year contract, according to iDiski Times journalist Sinethemba Makonco.

The new deal keeps the shot-stopper at Naturena and confirms his place as the longest-serving player in the current Amakhosi squad.

Bvuma becomes the second player to sign an extension after Dillan Solomons.

BRUCE BVUMA AT KAIZER CHIEFS

Born in Leratong, Gauteng, Bvuma joined the Kaizer Chiefs development structures before earning his senior debut in March 2017. Over the years, he has watched several experienced teammates leave the club, leaving him as the player with the longest continuous stay at Naturena.

The 31-year-old has built a reputation as one of the club’s most dependable professionals. Although he spent much of his career behind club legends such as Itumeleng Khune and later Brandon Petersen, he never stopped competing for his place.

Whenever Kaizer Chiefs needed him, Bvuma stepped up with important performances. He impressed during injury crises, produced crucial saves in high-pressure matches and helped the club during memorable campaigns, including their run to the CAF Champions League semi-finals and their Nedbank Cup triumph.

LONG-SERVING SHOT-STOPPER

His loyalty and professionalism have also earned him recognition beyond club football. Bvuma has received several call-ups to the Bafana Bafana senior national team, underlining his value as one of South Africa’s reliable goalkeepers.

The new contract also provides stability for Kaizer Chiefs as the club begins a new era under head coach Fernando Da Cruz. With competition for places expected to increase next season, Bvuma’s experience and leadership could prove just as valuable as his performances between the posts.

By extending the goalkeeper’s stay, Kaizer Chiefs have shown they still value one of the club’s most loyal servants, with Bvuma now set to continue his journey at Naturena into a tenth season.
