Rulani Reacts To MC Alger’s Cup Progress

Posted on December 15, 2025

MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena reckons that they achieved their main objectives after their Round of 16 Coupe d’Algerie progression.

Alger narrowly beat USM Khenchela 2-1 at Stade 5 Juillet 1962 on Friday night to maintain their unbeaten run across all competitions in Algeria as they currently top the league standings in the Algerian Ligue 1 as well.

Without looking too far ahead with nine matches scheduled in a space of a month for Alger, the SA tactician believed they had done a great job considering their injuries and suspension issues.

“First, congratulations to the boys. I think we all deserved the victory and we achieved a couple of objectives,” Mokwena told the media after the match.

“Because in a cup game the most important is to qualify for the next round and then try to give minutes to a lot of players.

“Our responsibility is to win and when you winning you carry everybody with you it’s very important.

“So, I’m proud of the performance of the group and congratulations to the entire team for winning a very, very difficult game.”
