Post-tour optimism and transfer push

Kaizer Chiefs have returned from their Netherlands pre-season tour with more questions than answers. Despite losing four of five matches, the club’s leadership insists the trip was a success.

“We had a very exciting pre-season,” said one insider. “It was a great space for the team to be in so that coaches can strategise and players blend in.”

That optimism might be needed, as the squad is still without a clear solution up front. Management has reportedly given the go-ahead to sign a striker — but only the right one.

Transfer door still open

While several deals have already been completed, Kaizer Chiefs haven’t called time on their transfer business. The club is reportedly considering a new striker who was recently offered to them: Congolese striker Ravel Djoumekou

“He has been offered to Chiefs in their quest to sign a striker and now it’s up to Chiefs’ scouts and analysts,” said a source. Another club insider added that Chiefs are still looking at other options, and may still surprise fans with another signing.

The technical team is said to be focused on finding an attacker who can compete in both domestic competition and the CAF Confederation Cup. Whether the offered forward becomes the final addition or if another target emerges remains to be seen. What’s clear is that Kaizer Chiefs aren’t done yet and management is backing the technical team’s plans.
