Kaizer Chiefs wing-back Thabiso Monyane feels the squad made immense progression after their last few weeks of pre-season in the Netherlands.
Monyane, 25, joined Chiefs ahead of the 2025/26 season after leaving his boyhood club Orlando Pirates, where he spent six seasons in the first team.
He arrived with six domestic cups to his name, with 95 games, four goals and three assists to his name; and has immediately impressed in their recent friendlies.
“I feel that there has been massive progression since we played our first game against Vitesse last week Tuesday,” he said via the club’s official website.
“Our time in the Netherlands, facing really good opponents, has been a top-top experience.”
Chiefs will now return to South Africa this weekend and will now prepare for the Toyota Cup against Asante Kotoko, at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 26 July.
“I feel optimistic – we are Kaizer Chiefs, a Club with a rich history. We have seen in Holland how big the Club is, with so many fans coming out to support us. We don’t want to disappoint them.
“If Kaizer Chiefs do well, the country does well. We want to put a smile on our supporters’ faces.”
