Orlando Pirates legend Tshegofatso Mabasa is heading to North Africa where he is expected to sign for Moroccan outfit Maghreb de Fes.
Mabasa is currently a free agent following his release by Pirates immediately after the expiry of his loan deal with Stellenbosch FC.
While the left-footed striker is a proven goal-poacher of note, no PSL club showed interest in his services.
And for that reason, his agency cast its net wide and far in trying to secure Mabasa a new home for the upcoming season.
According to a report by SABC Sport, a deal in principle has already between the two parties, and Mabasa will complete his medicals before putting pen to paper.
The 29-year-old leaves these shores as a Pirates legend with 50 goals for the club, eight behind all-time goalscorer Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi.

“SABC Sport has established that striker Tshegofatso Mabasa has travelled to Morocco after agreeing a deal in principle with Botola Pro League champions Maghreb de Fes,” reads part of the report.
“Mabasa is expected to complete his medical before the move is officially announced early this week.”

CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BECKONS FOR MABASA
This proposed deal will see Mabasa return to the CAF Champions League as Maghreb de Fes were crowned Botola Pro League champions last season.
There could be a possibility of the striker facing off against his former employers Pirates who will also return to the continental stage after winning the Betway Premiership last term.
