‘Write this down – No Trophies!’: Khanye’s brutal Chiefs prediction

Outspoken football analyst Junior Khanye has given his thoughts on Kaizer Chiefs new signings ahead of the Betway Premiership season, which kicks off this weekend.

The former Amakhosi winger feels the Glamour Boys will have another bad season under Nasreddine Nabi. Chiefs finished ninth in the Betway Premiership last campaign but claimed the Nedbank Cup, which somewhat salvaged their poor season.

Khanye said the cup win was a fluke and predicted the Soweto giants to struggle for results under the Tunisian tactician.

Khanye expects Kaizer Chiefs to fail

“Number one, they will never win any trophy for me, write this down. Even last season, it is questionable the way they won the trophy. I’m still questioning how they won the semi-final, even against Stellenbosch, the referee played a major part,” Khanye said

In the Betway Premiership, there is a possibility that they will finish ninth. They have average players; no team fears them. They have been dominated by Golden Arrows,” he said.

In terms of Kaizer Chiefs’ new signings, Khanye felt the team lacked quality players, and the six new recruitments would not make any significant changes.

“With the players they signed, they will be at the same level and the worst thing is that there are expectations. I don’t understand why they still kept Nabi.”

Chiefs travel to Cape Town to play Stellenbosch FC on Sunday, hoping to start their league campaign on a high.

Amakhosi to kick off new season on Sunday, do you expect changes?
