AmaZulu and Durban City have qualified semi-final of the KNZ Premier’s Cup at Umhlathuze Stadium on Sunday following their respective wins over Golden Arrows and Milford FC on Saturday.
The two will go head to head in the second semi-final after the match after qualifying, while Midlands Wanderers and Richards Bay had a bye.
Debutant Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya scored a brace, while Riaan Hanamub contributed the other goal for Usuthu. Former AmaZulu man Junior Dion was on the scoresheet for Arrows and so was Siyanda Mthanti with all the goals of the game coming in the first half.
In the second semi-final Durban City came from a goal down to win 2-1 against the Motsepe Foundation Championship side. Milford scored first through Khanyisani Radebe in the 35th minute which was cancelled by Samkelo Maseko eight minutes into the second half. The winner came courtesy of Trevor Mokwena four minutes after the hour mark.
The final will take place at the Umhlathuze Stadium on Sunday at 16:00.
The tournament is being used as preparation for the upcoming PSL season from topflight and first division sides in the province.
