Unexpected | Chiefs ‘Terminates’ Contract Of Highly-Rated Maestro
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In response to ongoing speculation about the future of Kaizer Chiefs’ striker Caleb Bimenyimana, the club has officially taken a decision.

The club announced on their social media platform page that they have parted ways the 25-year-old striker.

Caleb had joined the Soweto giants just last season on a two-year deal, which means he is being released from his contract.

Despite scoring eight goals in 21 appearances across all competitions in his first season, and becoming the team’s leading goal scorer, both the club and their fans seemed unconvinced about his long-term potential.

Chiefs has indicated that the 25-year-old striker is now free to seek out a new club of his choice.

“Kaizer Chiefs have come to an agreement with striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to part ways after one season. He featured 21 times for Chiefs 17 starts with 4 of them as a sub, and found the back of the net on eight occasions. He will be free to join a team of his choice and we wish him well in his future,” the club confirmed.

This departure became possible after the club signed Ranga Chivaviro, a 30-year-old striker from Marumo Gallants.

Notably, Chivaviro had an impressive record of scoring 17 goals in the previous season across all competitions.

This signing positions him as a ready-made replacement for Caleb and potentially an even stronger player.

Currently, the head coach, Molefi Ntseki, has Ashley du Preez, Christian Saile, and Chivaviro as his primary frontmen.

Du Preez’s recent performance, where he scored two goals in three matches, has showcased his excellent form.

With such form on display, there seemed to be no room for Caleb in the team.

It remains uncertain whether the Glamour Boys, as Chiefs is commonly referred to, will actively seek a replacement to further strengthen their squad.

The acquisition of Chivaviro already seems to address the potential gap left by Caleb’s departure.

The focus could be on refining the existing lineup to maintain the team’s competitive edge.

As the season progresses, the impact of these changes will become clearer.

Fans and observers will likely closely watch how Chivaviro integrates into the team and how the reshuffled frontmen contribute to the club’s overall performance.

What do you make of Chiefs’ decision to part ways with Caleb?
