UCT Win Away, Downs Ladies Held

The full return to action of the Hollywoodbets Super League was a draw-fest with only three fixtures producing match-winning results.

Defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and University of Western Cape played to 1-1 stalemate in Cape Town with Litṧeoane Maloro opening the scoring for the hosts in the first half which was then cancelled out by Refiloe Tholakele in the second period. Sundowns remained at the top of the log with 32 points in 14 matches while the Blues are in 11th with 17 points from 13 matches.

TUT Matsatsantsa missed an opportunity to move to the summit of the table when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Limpopo’s Copperbelt Ladies in Seshego. TUT remained in second place a point behind Banyana Ba Style, but the former has played 17 matches while Copperbelt are placed seventh with 35 points in 16 outings.

Elsewhere, TS Galaxy Queens narrowed the gap at the top to two points with their narrow 1-0 win over Richmond United in De Aar courtesy of an Alicia Terhart goal. The result sees them in third place with 30 points from 13 matches while United are third from bottom with 13 points in 16 outings.
