Stellies & Chiefs Starting XIs Announced

Posted on October 5, 2025

Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs have named their respective starting line-ups for this afternoon’s Carling Knockout Cup last 16 clash at DHL Stadium.

The Cape Winelands outfit were crowned the inaugural champions of the CKC in 2023 and will look to use that as inspiration to overcome Chiefs who have already beaten them in the league this season.

Steve Barker’s charges have struggled to hit form this season and have won just one out of nine league games this season and currently occupy a lowly 14th place. They come into this tie after bagging a 0-0 draw with Chippa United in the Betway Premiership last time out.

Amakhosi on the other hand have equally struggled to yield positive results and played to a frustrating 1-1 draw with AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night winning just once in the last five outings as they occupy fifth place.

This fixture has been dominated by the Glamour Boys winning four of the last five clashes and losing just one.

Here’s how both sides line up:

Chiefs Starting XI: Ntwari, Cross, Kwinika (c), Miguel, Solomons, Mthethwa, Ngcobo, Shabalala, Mmodi, Lilepo, Mayo.

Subs: Bvuma, McCarthy, Frosler, Cele, Matlou, Sirino, Du Preez, Chislett, Morris

Stellies Starting XI: Masuluke, Mcaba, Mokobodi, Moloisane, Manafov, Palace, Khiba, Mthiyane, Lekoloane, Titus, Khanyi

Subs: Stephens, Butsaka, Mdaka, Enyinnaya, Jabaar, De Jong, Cupido, Barns, Mojela
