New Orlando Pirates recruit Kamogelo Sebelebele has revealed that his move to the Buccaneers stems from growing up supporting the club.
The 23-year-old versatile player joined the Soweto giants from TS Galaxy in the off-season and has already had the look and feel of being a Pirates player after featuring on the bench in the MTN8 opener against Polokwane City last weekend.
Sebelebele is already looking forward to the Betway Premiership opening weekend when they welcome tricky Sekhukhune United to Orlando Stadium on Saturday, making mention of how he intends to aid the team.
“It has been good,” he told the club’s website.
“I’m so grateful to be here, and looking forward to helping the team and contributing in trying to win the league, CAF Champions League and many other trophies.
“Obviously, Orlando Pirates is a big team. Everyone wants to play for Orlando Pirates. One of the reasons I chose the club is because I grew up supporting Orlando Pirates.”
In conclusion, the Tembisa-born speedster is aware that a tough challenge lies ahead as he aims to nail down a regular starting berth.
“I am looking forward to that challenge,” he said.
“I know it won’t be easy. I have to push and focus on improving and helping the team.
“Every game is tough in this league but obviously, Orlando Pirates is a big team, and we can’t afford to lose against any team in the league. They are coming to Orlando, so we have to win.”
