Sebelebele On Reaching First MTN8 Final With Pirates

Orlando Pirates winger Kamogelo Sebelebele is already targeting his first gold medal after his heroics in the MTN8 semis.

Just like he did in the first leg, Sebelebele once again scored as the Buccaneers rallied from a goal down to salvage a 1-1 draw before eventually winning 4-1 on penalties against Mamelodi Sundowns in Tshwane. This was also his third goal in three successive matches with two Man of the Match awards in as many games.

This meant Pirates reached their fourth consecutive Wafa Wafa final and will again play Stellenbosch FC in a repeat of last season’s final.

The 23-year-old speedster expressed how everyone contributed to their success of beating Sundowns on their home turf to advance yet again.

“I want to start off by thanking God for the opportunity, for the talent and the coach for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to play for Orlando Pirates,” he said.

“This game wasn’t easy. We started slow. We didn’t execute the plan the way we had planned.

“But half-time we spoke in the changeroom and also the guys who got off the bench helped us with the energy. All-round, we’re a team whether it’s on or off the pitch. We need everyone.

“I’m looking forward to the final. My second final professionally. And I need a gold medal obviously.

“We’re going to make the fans happy as they come in numbers. We always have to make them happy.”
