Sebelebele – It Breaks My Heart

Posted on February 7, 2026

Orlando Pirates winger Kamogelo Sebelebele has opened up on the emotional rollercoaster in his debut season at the club so far since his transfer from TS Galaxy.

The 23-year-old was a surprise off-season signing from the Rockets, where he established himself as one of the leading performers in the South African top-flight over the last couple of seasons.

He amassed 97 appearances for the club, playing on either wing-back and as a full-back, with his pace, dribbling one of his key strengths, while he chipped in with 10 goals and six assists.

His impact at Pirates was evident, scoring in both legs of the MTN8 semi-final triumph over Mamelodi Sundowns, as Pirates retained their title again – which earned him a place in the senior national team before a knee injury struck ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

“Obviously people talk because it [was] my first injury, so people say you get to Orlando Pirates and you get injured, when you played for TS Galaxy, you didn’t get injuries,” he said on Bucs Camp.

“It’s hectic at Orlando Pirates, people are busy with you, some are not happy, things like that. They don’t understand that we play soccer and it’s a contact sport. So, injuries will always be there.

“Not everything has ‘people’ involved. Sometimes we have to be positive, and I don’t like listening to naysayers, because they can potentially bring harm.

“I’m heart broken, I didn’t expect to get an injury anytime soon – it breaks my heart when I miss games, but as long as the team is playing well, I am happy I’ll forever support them, even when I’m injured.”
